Hide and Seek with Wildlife: Part 17

As I mentioned in my first post of this series, I shall share photos of wildlife in this section to showcase their amazing camouflaging abilities. Spotting wildlife in such a situation is exciting. Here is a simple one for the week! The location is Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. This is the first of my many posts to follow on our trekking experience in this route close to Gangotri and Yamunotri Valley.

A Royle’s pika is sitting right in the open on the rock.

Royle’s pika also called the Himalayan mouse hare is a small rodent like animal without a tail. It inhabits rocky crevices in the mountains and forests and feed on shoots and leaves.
