Hide and Seek with Wildlife: Part 21

As I mentioned in my first post of this series, I shall share photos of wildlife in this section to showcase their amazing camouflaging abilities. Spotting wildlife in such a situation is exciting. Here is a simple one for the weekend! The location is Chorla Ghats in Goa-Karnataka border.

A saw-scaled viper!!!

The saw-scaled viper, though small in size, is among the most venomous snakes found in the Chorla Ghats and India. Its cryptic pattern blends with the rusty hues of laterite rocks, making it nearly invisible to the untrained eye. With a notoriously fast strike, it demands extreme caution from anyone traversing its habitat. This snake is a delight to spot!
